Individual Therapy

The Thought Co. · Individual Therapy

you're managing everything. you're just not managing yourself.

on paperthe job's fine, the calendar's full, nobody's worried about you.

underneathyou're the one holding it together, and no one's holding you.

One-on-one, ongoing, built around what's actually going on, not a crisis script. If you've been circling anxiety, burnout, or just feeling off, this is where individual therapy starts. Still deciding? Read do I need therapy? first.

You need a crisis to justify therapy.
You need something that's affecting your life. That's a much lower bar than most people think.

most of our clients are still going to work every day. that's exactly who this is for.
a quiet check-in

does any of this sound like you?

Tap the ones you recognise. Nothing's scored, nothing here is a diagnosis.

Recognise a couple? That's reason enough to talk to someone.

our approach

the modalities, and the thing that matters more

CBT. REBT. DBT. ACT. Schema therapy. Narrative therapy.

None of it matters as much as this: a therapist in supervision every week, actually themselves in the room with you.

supervision isn't a footnote here. it's the whole practice.
how it actually works

the practical bits, swipeable

  • Online

Suits you if you want privacy, an unpredictable schedule, or open up more easily from your own space. See online therapy in India.

  • In person

At our Lower Parel practice in Mumbai, if being in the room steadies you.

  • First session

Not a test you can fail. A conversation about what's going on and what you're hoping changes.

  • Between sessions

Our journaling programs give you somewhere to put things down when you don't have the words.

  • In an Indian household

Log kya kahenge decides more than most people admit. Our therapists work in the Indian context by default.

common questions

what people ask before they start

What does a therapist for individual therapy actually do?

They listen closely, notice the patterns you can't see from inside them, and help you understand what's driving the difficulty, not just manage the symptom on the surface.

What therapy approaches does The Thought Co. use?

Mostly CBT, REBT, DBT, ACT, schema therapy, and narrative therapy, matched to what you need. What matters more than the acronym is a therapist who's in regular supervision and genuinely present with you in session.

How do I know if I need therapy, or if I'm just going through a rough patch?

A rough patch tends to lift on its own within a few days. If something's been dragging on for weeks and touching your sleep, focus, or relationships, that's usually worth a conversation.

Do I need to already know what's wrong before booking?

No. "Something feels off and I don't know what to call it" is a complete reason to start.

Is online individual therapy as effective as in person?

For most concerns, yes. What matters most is the fit with your therapist, not the format of the session.

How soon will I feel a difference?

Some relief can come within the first few sessions, simply from being heard clearly. Deeper change, the kind that actually holds, tends to take longer.
