Am I Angry or Just Tired?
A workshop with Zena Yarde, senior psychologist at The Thought Co.
Am I Angry or Just Tired?
Not angry, just disappointed. You probably know the feeling. You've just been calling it something else.

- Fee
- ₹1,200One session, two hours

You don't have to speak unless you want to.
The thing you've been calling something else
Most of us were taught to adjust.
To understand why the other person did what they did. To keep the peace, not talk back, let it go. So when anger arrives, we rarely call it that. We call it different things.
- Tired
- A bit off
- Stressed lately
- Probably overreacting
But anger that isn't allowed doesn't leave. It moves house. Into the headache, the sarcasm, the sudden tears, the not wanting to talk to someone and not knowing why.
This workshop is for the moment just before you say "it's fine."
Who's in the room
Zena is a senior psychologist at The Thought Co. She supervises the team and heads its training and workshops, after ten years in school counselling, college teaching, palliative care and therapy. Her measure of a topic: if everyone avoids it, it probably matters.
And up to nine other women, who learned the same thing you did.
What happens in the two hours
This is not a talk you sit through, and you don't have to speak unless you want to. Zena walks the room through three things.
Where anger lives in you
Body, thought, behaviour. What tired feels like versus what angry feels like, because for most of us they've worn the same clothes for years.
Understanding the pause
That half-second where "that hurt" becomes "maybe I'm overreacting." You'll leave able to catch it.
Finding the words
Not the argument. Just the sentence.
I didn't like that.
I need something different.
I can't keep doing this.
Said out loud, in a room where nobody needs you to be fine.
Who this is for
- Women who learned to feel everything except anger.
- Who shrink the reaction and the feeling until both disappear.
- Who were taught that keeping everyone comfortable is the same as keeping the peace.
- Who've started to wonder if "fine" was always something else.
If that's you, this is your room.
Before you register
If it isn't safe to feel anger where you live, or what you're carrying feels bigger than a workshop, this isn't the right room. That deserves a different kind of support, and we'd rather say so now.
