What actually happens, week by week. It is slower than the movies and it is not a straight line.
Progress, honestly
Most people expect to feel a little better every week. What actually happens is some weeks you go backwards, and the line still climbs over the months. The dips are part of it working.

01
Sessions 1 to 4
What happens first?
The first few sessions are mostly getting to know you.
History, what brought you in, what you have tried. Not much fixing yet. We build the picture, and the relationship the work runs on.
you might leave lighter, or thinking we just talked. both are normal.
02
Around session 5
Does it get worse before better?
Often it does. That is the work starting, not therapy failing.
You begin touching the real thing. Patterns become visible and you cannot unsee them. For a while it can feel like going backwards.
the dip is the work, not a warning sign.
03
The middle stretch
How do you know it is working?
You start catching yourself while it is happening.
The loop that used to run you loosens. You notice the spiral in the moment, not a week later. Small, unshowy shifts that add up.
this is what change actually looks like.
04
When it is time
When does it end?
Therapy is not forever. You decide when you are done.
You and your therapist talk about ending. Some finish. Some pause and come back when life shifts. Ending well is part of the work.
we would rather lose you to a good ending than keep you too long.
While we are being honest, therapy is
not advice
not someone agreeing with you
not a straight line
not forever
it is a room where you say the true thing, and someone helps you make sense of it.

Before you start
I am nervous. Is that normal?+
Yes, almost everyone is. You do not need to arrive calm or organised. You just need to arrive.
What if I do not know what to say?+
Common. Start with what made you book. Your therapist will help you find the thread, and silence is allowed too.
Do I need a diagnosis or referral?+
No. You do not need a referral, a diagnosis, or a reason serious enough. Wanting to feel better is reason enough.
Will I have to explain my background?+
You will tell us your history, because therapy needs it. But not the culture it happened in. We already understand the household you are describing.
I tried therapy before and it did not work.+
Often that was the fit or format, not you. Tell us what did not work last time. It helps us match you better.
The first sessions
What happens on the first call?+
A short intro call, free, nothing to prepare. Its job is to match you to the right therapist. No pressure to book after.
What does a session look like?+
A conversation, not a couch and not an interrogation. You talk, your therapist listens for what you are not saying.
How long, and how often?+
Each session is 60 minutes. Most people begin with one session a week.
What if I cry, or do not cry?+
Both are normal. There is no correct way to feel in the room.
As it goes on
How many sessions will I need?+
No set number. Many feel a shift within the first several. How long you stay is decided with your therapist as you go.
Is it normal to feel worse after?+
Yes, especially mid-stretch. Difficult material stirs things up before it settles. If a session leaves you shaken, tell your therapist.
Can I stop and come back?+
Yes. Many pause and return when life shifts. Coming back is not starting over.
What if the fit is wrong?+
You can switch. It is not awkward and it is not a failure.
Money and logistics
How much does it cost?+
Sessions run from ₹1,500 to ₹8,000 depending on which therapist you see. The fee reflects experience, not a better outcome.
Online or in person?+
Both. In person in Mumbai, and online across India and beyond.
Is it confidential?+
What you say stays between you and your therapist. They will explain how it works, and its limits, at the start.
Do you prescribe medication?+
No. Our therapists are psychologists, not psychiatrists. If medication might help, we point you to a good one.
You do not have to be ready.
The first step is a short call, not a session. You work with one of our psychologists, matched to you.
