Mental Health Support for the People Who Hold Everyone Else

Healthcare workers carry grief exposure, roster fatigue, and moral injury as routine conditions of the job. An EAP for hospitals needs access that fits around rotations, clinicians who understand clinical burnout, and, after a death on the ward, an HR team trained to respond in the first hours rather than a vendor selling a debriefing the evidence warns against.
Loss is not an incident here. It is the shift.

Grief is not an incident in healthcare. It is Tuesday. Roster fatigue, moral injury, and loss are structural, and your people have learned to carry them silently because stopping is not an option mid shift. A nurse who lost two patients on a night and clocked in the next evening. A resident who has not slept properly in a month and calls it training. They will not use support that treats their exhaustion as a productivity problem.

Grief is not an incident here. It is Tuesday.Structural, not occasional — and staffed accordingly.

After a death on the ward: what we do, and what we will not sell you

What we do

  • Train your HR team to respond in the first hours
  • Teach HR to refer, fast, to a psychologist
  • Hold the line publicly, even with the sector most likely to ask for the opposite

What we will not sell you

  • Critical incident stress debriefing
  • A single-session group debrief after a death or trauma
  • Anything the Cochrane reviews warn can make things worse

This sector asks for critical incident stress debriefing by name. We do not deliver critical incident support, and we will not sell you debriefing. Single session debriefing after a traumatic event does not prevent PTSD and can make things worse for some people; the Cochrane reviews are not ambiguous. What we do instead is train your HR team, through the HR responder module, to respond in the first hours and to refer, which is what the evidence supports.

What is different about an EAP built for healthcare

  • Access that fits the roster.Online sessions are available every day, including Sunday, and booking runs 9 am to 8 pm seven days a week, so an off day after a run of nights is a real window. We are not a 24 hour service, and a ward benefit that pretends to be one is not being honest with you.
  • Clinicians who understand clinical burnout.Moral injury is not ordinary stress, and the person on the other end should know the difference without being told.
  • Grief that is allowed to be grief.Healthcare has learned to file loss and keep moving. The programme makes room for it to be felt, on the person's own timing.
  • Therapists your people choose and keep. The same delivery model as the whole programme, in person at Lower Parel or online.
The debriefing room, closed. The quiet individual one, open.

What your employer can and cannot see

Aggregate usage, broad themes, and recommendations only, never below eight people, never a name or a session. The full architecture is on the reporting page.

Questions hospital HR and medical directors actually ask

How do hospitals support healthcare worker mental health?

With access built around the roster, clinicians who understand moral injury, and a programme that lets grief be grief. A wellbeing week between shifts does none of that.

Is counselling available around clinical shifts?

Online sessions are available every day, including Sunday, and booking runs 9 am to 8 pm seven days a week, which fits around rotations and off days far better than a weekday only benefit. It is not a 24 hour line, and we say so.

Do you offer debriefing after a patient death?

No. We do not deliver critical incident support at all, and we will not sell debriefing, which can harm. We train your HR team to respond in the first hours and to refer, which is what the evidence supports.

Do you understand clinical burnout?

Yes. Moral injury and roster fatigue are not ordinary workplace stress, and the clinicians on this programme know the difference.
