About Zena
There is a set of rules nobody handed you but you follow anyway. Be agreeable. Do not make it awkward. Keep the peace, even when the peace costs you. Zena is interested in where those rules came from, how they got inside, and why they are so hard to break even once you can see them clearly.
A lot of her work is with the reasonable one. The one who says yes and resents it later, who can set a boundary in theory and folds the moment someone's face falls. She works on the actual mechanics of it. The family script underneath, the guilt that arrives on cue, the words you could use instead. Boundaries and people-pleasing are her home ground, in sessions and in the workshops she runs on them.
She takes it seriously. Maybe a little too seriously, which she will own. She is not going to hand you reassurance or a tidy fix, because she does not think either one holds for long. Her instinct when you are afraid is closer to a question. So what, exactly, are you scared will happen, and then what would you actually do about it. Courage with a plan attached, not a pep talk.
She is also senior enough now to be training and supervising other therapists, so some of her attention goes to how good care gets made, not only to giving it.
